Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Asaf David (“we”), who runs Tribute Story as an individual in Israel. There is no company. By signing in you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data. Write to us at [email protected].

Who can use Tribute Story

You must be 18 or older. You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for what happens under it.

What you get

Tribute Story turns your photos, videos and memories into a short film set to music. A film is paid for once, for $80, after you have seen its plan and before we make the film.

The price of one film includes:

• 3 rounds of changes after you see the cut.
• Moving moments: where a film uses them, we animate some photos. How many depends on the film, and some films use none.
• Up to 10 renders of the film.
• Downloading the finished film as often as you like, for as long as we keep it.

We do not hand out the individual animated clips or source files, only the finished film.

We set limits on how much one account can upload and ask for, so the service stays fair and affordable. An honest film does not reach them. The numbers can change.

Your photos, videos and music

You must have the right to use everything you put in a film. When you finish adding your media, you confirm:

“I have the right to use the photos, videos and music in this film, and to make it.”

If you did not upload a song of your own, the sentence leaves the music out:

“I have the right to use the photos and videos in this film, and to make it.”

Either way, this means:

• You took the photos, or you have permission from whoever did.
• The people in them, or their parent or guardian for a child, would not object to being in this film, or to their photo being animated if the film animates it.
• You have the right to use any song you upload. A song you bought or stream is usually NOT yours to put in a film. If you are not sure, use our music.

You are responsible if this is not true. If someone makes a claim against us because of something you put in a film, you agree to cover what it reasonably costs us to deal with it.

You keep ownership of your photos, videos and songs. You give us permission to store them, process them, and send them to the companies listed in our privacy policy, only to make and deliver your film. That permission ends when the film or your account is deleted.

The finished film is yours to keep and share, for personal use. The music written for it may be used only as part of that film, and not on its own.

What you must not do

• Upload anything illegal, including any sexual content involving a minor. We report it to the authorities where the law requires, and we keep what is needed as evidence.
• Use someone’s photos to mock, harass or deceive them, or to make them appear to do something they did not do.
• Upload photos of someone who has asked not to be included.
• Try to get around our limits, or use the service as a general AI tool.
• Try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

Reports and stopping a film

If a film uses your photo without your agreement, or you see something illegal, write to [email protected].

We can stop a film, or suspend an account, when we receive a report or see a breach of these terms. Stopping keeps everything, so a report can be checked and a mistake undone. If we stop your film by mistake, we restart it.

How long we keep your film

A finished film is kept for 6 months from the day it is ready, then deleted. We email you 30 days before. Download it before then. A film you never finish is deleted after 60 days without activity. The privacy policy has the details.

Payment and refunds

Payment is taken by Freemius, who are the merchant of record. That means your purchase is made from Freemius, they handle the tax and any card dispute, and their checkout terms apply alongside these. The receipt you get will be theirs.

You can have your money back within 30 days, as long as you have not downloaded the film. Ask at [email protected]. Once the film is downloaded it is yours and the sale is final, because there is nothing to give back. Freemius may also have a refund rule of their own; where theirs gives you longer, theirs applies.

A refunded film is treated as unpaid: it is kept for 60 days without activity, then deleted.

Our service

We work hard to make a good film, but the story, the music and any animation are made with AI, and a result will not always be what you expected. That is what the rounds of changes are for.

We provide the service “as is”. We are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you for a film is limited to what you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the law where you live. Where your own country’s or state’s law gives you more than this page does, that law wins.

We can change or stop the service. If we stop it, we give you at least 30 days to download your films.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile menu. This deletes your films and everything in them. We can close an account that breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we email you before it takes effect. Using Tribute Story after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv decide any dispute. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away the protection your own law gives you, or your right to bring a claim where you live.
